FAQs
What is dead stock?
Dead stock is a term used to describe leftover fibres and fabrics from manufacturers that are deemed too low quantity to be used anymore and therefore landfill destined.
By using dead stock fibres and fabric we reduce our environmental impact by repurposing, but more excitingly dead stock allows us to be curious and inventive. For example, some of our products use specially recycled dead stock that has allowed for unique technical innovation.
Dead stock is a unique opportunity for us to work with material that already exists, that otherwise would go to waste.
Caring for your knitwear:
Hand wash in warm water.
If storing for winter it’s a good idea to rinse in water with a splash of white vinegar. This is a natural moth deterrent. Don’t worry, it won’t smell once it has dried.
Gently press the water from the garment and lay flat on a towel. Roll towel up tightly and press or step on it to remove as much water from the knitwear as possible. Remove from towel and reshape the item to its original form.
Dry Flat.
If you are in a hurry and need to put your knits into the washing machine, take extra care by using a net bag and only washing with the gentle cycle on cold.
